I’m a relative newbie to twitter and am just beginning to wrap my brain around the possibilities (and OH the possibilities!)
Thinkin’ though that I love it and here’s why…
People Have to be More Human
There’ll be no more hiding behind anonymous ads, blog posts and articles.
This is the Attraction Marketing age and twitter encourages the best Attraction marketing behavior there ever was in all of us – add value, entertain, be yourself. And as always if you’re not attracting the people you want to be – time to remember that like attracts like, yes?
Marketers Have to be More Artful
Unlike some in the blogging community (and now also on sites like facebook and twitter), I happen to really appreciate marketing done “where I live and breathe” – and yes, I’m probably biased ‘cause I do some myself — but it must be done “artfully”.
By artfully I don’t mean that I want to be tricked into clicking through to places I don’t actually want to be – I mean when I’m looking for something, I sincerely appreciate finding it quickly and easily and if I get there seamlessly and without a hard pitch, I often don’t mind paying for it and fully expect that someone will get a commission.
Why not the person like I know and like who pointed me there?
Everyone HAS to be Short and Sweet
One of my biggest writing challenges has always been writing short, clear, engaging posts. Twitter limits each twit to a tidy sentence or two. Better bet we’re all getting better at being clear and to the point.
Today, thanks to Chris Garrett, I’ve finally visited Chris Brogan, who reminds us that skateboarding dogs rule our attention better than a lot of things.
What I especially like about his last few posts is that they also are short and sweet – and full of analogies to relate to.
So yes, twitter is my new favorite place – more real, more attractive, short, sweet and entertaining.
Dang still 351 words … ah well … I’ll get shorter and sweeter … lol
Neat stuff
Happy twitting!
Andrea

Hi Andrea… YES! You’ve nailed one of the things I most appreciate about twitter too.
There are just so many things to appreciate about this very simple platform for communication… not the least of which is how quickly you start connecting with people with a totally unexpected level of intimacy. With it’s cultural ‘rule-of-thumb’ of 80% personal/20% business, along with the 140 character limit… you get something closer to the uncensored thoughts going through the mind…
which always rings with the authenticity lacking in slick and polished website or sales copy.
So glad you’ve stepped into the twitterverse to play!
