John Carlton and Jo Han Mok Just Collided in My Head

No this isn’t some “Being John Malcovich” moment I’m having – lol.

For about a week, I tossed around and chewed on an email that @Mike Morgan sent me (well, not me – his list – grin) promoting John Carlton’s freelance course (appreciate it enough to use his affiliate link here – wow that’s something huh??)

I was torn. Really torn.

It was partly the price (even though it’s an amazing value for the money) -’cause I don’t yet have $600 just to toss around. That shouldn’t be the measure of whether I invest in something anyway. ROI should.

So I thought about it some more.

I poked around to see what other copywriters were offering. Got a feel for where who learned what and from whom. And I kept being lead back around to John.

Then I had to dig deep. “Okay Andrea – what is it you want to do with your life?” … and then, “Is this gonna help you get there?”

Well DUH, being a skilled copywriter can be useful in any number if ways. Bigger challenge is in positioning and networking to attract the projects that you want.

Turns out my hesitation was more about “Will I make the grade” – “Can I be an exceptional copywriter” … Could I follow the successful footsteps that I need to and come out the other end with my very own USP and the lifestyle/skills that I want at my beck and call??

And the answer is yes.

I can do this and YES John’s course – especially the ‘how to package yourself’ part is exactly the shot in the arm I can use best right now.

So I signed up on Saturday. Schweet!!

So this morning, I’m rolling along in the after glow of spending my wad and Jo Han Mok adds me as a friend on Twitter. Dang, now he’s been off my radar for a bit (feels like forever) – interesting.

So I hop over to see what he’s up to, click through to his website linked there and BLAM it hits me.

He is an excellent copywriter. FUN sales letter :)

And I can write like that – I’m already a decent copywriter!

Sure I need polish and to connect the dots here and there – but I’m right there at the point of “gonna be able to get this all pulled together” – right on the cusp — I can just feel it.

Feels good! No … feels G-R-E-A-T!!

And the last few words on Jo Han Mok’s page really summed it all up for me:

Action =====> Nothing happens until THIS happens!

(really we already knew this right? Just good to get reminded from time to time)

So I took action and I bought his “Recipe for Riches Report” (dang it’s only $9.95 after all and OMG it’s fab if you want a step-by-step ‘How to put together an offer’ guide)

In appreciation of the story he told and ’cause I knew there’d be a gem or two in there for me. Plus I needed something to read while John’s stuff comes by pack mule (okay Fedex – same diff) :-/

Heck I even learned something going through the checkout! Swiped his (super) simple thank-you page and all – grin.

Yes sir-ee feeling pretty good this morning!

Excellent, attractive, they’ll-be-excited-they’re-buyin’ copy here I come.

Man I love when a plan comes together, don’t you??

Appreciate you,

Andrea

    Hiya Andrea,

Nice blog you got there. Still got some poking around to do but I like your style. Gonna book mark ya for future enlightment.

Lately I’ve been on the fence about getting some professional help . . . copywriting help that is and have considered Carlton’s Freelance Course. And you may have sealed the deal for me.

By the way I think that it’s interesting that you’ve ask that ever so deep question, “what is it you want to do with your life?” Seems I’ve been asking myself the same question lately–feeling the same sort of thoughts about marketing copywriting and online bidniz.

Anyhow if you’re interested in bouncing back and forth ideas, I’d be honored to hear from you.

I bid you much success with Carlton’s freelance course.

    Warmly,

    Emette Massey
