Being the Goose I Was Born to Be

I was replying to one of my closest compadres when …

BAM it hit me!

The whole goose formation thing and ease of flight/forward motion/ momentum dealie suddenly took almost visual root in my head.

And it suddenly clicked that one of them has to choose to fly in the front.

That took me down this slightly tanget path to understand geere the way that experts understand geese – and there seems to be some large differences in opinion behind why geese do what they do and whether they (for example) switch off in the lead position and what the real benefits are…

Got that bit of info from this Article

Seems there’s a big to do among Geese-ologists (? lol) as to whether there’s as substantial benefit in energy spent, turn taking or if it’s just practical to know where your other forward moving friends are and what  they’re up to so there aren’t any mid-air collisions LOL …

YES I went off on that tangent.

And then I gave myself a mental slap.

I am not a goose.

And we can only take these sorts of analogies so far before they become less-than-useful to us.

Thinking we should take the bit that resonates…

And then get to taking action!

So whether Geese actually ‘choose’ to lead or not (maybe they just draw the short straw – who the heck knows)

I definitely CAN see value in adopting the “keep your forward moving friends close to you” idea.

In that way I am most definitely Becoming the Goose I am Supposed to Be. Strong alliances are  forming even as we speak ;-)

Momentum from action-taking energy and masterminding is infectious and when egos are not involved – never never fails to become something bigger and better than the sum of its parts.

Do you have that kind of masterminding happening in your life?

Would you like to?

There’s always room for one more.

I like to imagine there’s always room for one more … but the stark reality is that effective masterminds are intimate.

I have room for a couple more close-in peeps and then I’m at capacity for the foreseeable future – holler at me if you’re ready to make significant improvements in the value you have to offer.

(Hint: who has your back becomes an extension of your value and that can make all the difference)

Synergy is a beautiful thing.

(So is clarity!)

I appreciate you,

Andrea

    Andrea,
From the articles I’ve read about geese, the lead guy trades with another goose when he/she gets tired. However (not being a goose) I believe every group does need a leader. Can we roll out the red carpet for you?
